Wowh that bagged stalk is impressive indeed! Have you measured it lately?
My tallest Piloto Cubano produced narrower leaves than many of the shorter ones. I bagged two: the tallest and the one with the overall largest leaf.

For me they did not germinate. Yet...
We'll get this line straightened out, eh. I'm most curious what the next generation will be like.
I was poking around on this Internet Archive site and came across this about Gigantism in tobacco. Interesting read. Could ya imagine a plant almost 5meters high?
Gigantism in Nicotiana tabacum and its Alternative Inheritance

The Piloto Cubano in the pot, has it been in there all along? Have you only moved it inside? Or have you moved it from outside, into the pot?
I understand your feeling about this year's weather... here in France we had a heat wave in May and June, then half July the sun decided to go away and we had rain, cloud, cold... only a few days of good weather in about 2 month...
So my plants had a slow growth since mid July... and I have still some leaves to pick... but with the weather they are not very mature... and the temperature is lower and lower each day, I hope it won't freeze too soon.
I hope next year we will have a better weather !
P.S. Your piloto cubano leaves are looking good ! Hope they will be good![]()
