Boboro, In a word -- Yes if that is where you plan to plant next year. Do the soil test NOW. That way you can modify the soil as needed over the winter.

I'm preety sure I need lime I think that was causeing my problems this year. All them rotten leaves make the acid in the dirt go up. And my soil is acidik any way This year I'm going to get a test from the goverment. Its $20 or so so I want to mix the dirt from all the gardens togeter.

I wouldn't do that unless you are pretty sure they are all the same. If any are really different you will mask the fact. Take separate samples if you can afford it or take just the one where it is most important to you.

You say "the government". Here in CT the state Ag Extension does up to three samples for free. Maybe your state Ag Dept. or a state college has a similar program. You could Google to find out.

I did samples a few years ago it was $20 My problem was in all my gardens I thougt it was TMV but Big Bonner didn't think so. It looks like frenching And someone said PH could cause that. Because I mulch heavly with oak leaves PH mite be the problem. But I'm going to cheak with the Ag dept. Maybe I got that test somewhere elese It would be much better to test each garden.

Remember tobacco likes slightly acid soil. I have the other problem, too basic.
