"What temp. swings do you see in Houston area?"

The coldest I've seen here was 9 F, in '83. The hottest, 108 F a few years ago. Those are freaks though, usual winter weather is lows in the 50's, highs in the 70's. Summers lows in the high 70's, highs in the mid 90's. We get "spells" that last from a few days to weeks when the extremes come. A SSW wind off the Gulf keeps it humid here all year, chapped lips are pretty rare. I was here 2 years before I needed more than a flannel shirt.

"Smart Alec"

Who the hell is that? I know it begins with "A", but I don't even know an Alec. There's still a few things I miss up there, but the weather isn't one of them.

They preemptively cancelled tons of stuff here for this “historic" storm that didn't even arrive when scheduled. Maybe I'm wrong because I'm a transplant but it seems stupid to cancel stuff for a maybe involving snow in Vermont. In winter.

In Mass. It arrived right on schedule. They said light snow during the day with increasing winds, accumulating 3 inches by 6 PM and damned if they weren't right. The bad stuff is supposed to happen over the next twelve hours.

It's snowing lightly again this AM. About this time in winter I start getting tired of the white stuff. But it can be pretty. I wish I was a better photographer. -·-

Johnlee - you're not the only one with nice weather today. Here's my front yard. Picture taken from front porch. You can see my pond down in the bottom. I should be bouncing a worm off the bottom right now. Boy this sunshine sure is intense. Wish you were here. LOL hahaha hehehehe

near right edge of the lake looks like a nice flat for a tobacco plot. and you can fish while watching it grow. Any hornworms that show up can be immediately placed on a hook and sentenced to death as fishbait.

The area you see I've been planting in fruit and nut bearing trees and wild plum to cut down on mowing. But I left a strip at the bottom of the hill for plenty o' tobacco. It gets full sun in summer.

The wild plum is called Cherokee plum. Dont need the sprayin like the others but will make a thicket quick.
