I am in analysis paralysis on strains to grow. I live in augusta ga and have experience with 2 seasons of growing burly and Virginia gold. I would like a strain for wrapper, binder and filler preferably south american style cigars. Why south america? Just cause. I dont smoke but am just interested in it and know good tobacco comes from that region. I have a small section of my garden that only gets a few hours of light a day before being in shade for the rest of the day. Is there any strain for one of those purposes that would do well in that spot with little direct light? If so I would like to utilize that space also. Everywhere else gets full sun. Thanks for the help.

Hopefully you will get some responses to this question. I live near Dublin, GA and would like to try growing some tobacco next summer. I could till up a decent area in the front yard.

Will keep an eye on this thread.

Even shade-grown tobacco uses only 40% shade cloth. So a few hours of direct sunlight a day is a bit of a challenge. Corojo 99 is a suitable single variety for filler and binder and wrapper. That is a Cuban variety.
