I'm so jealous... I've never had a good cigar ...
A good cigar is a subjective thing. Either you enjoyed the cigar or you didn't. What anyone else thinks of that cigar is their opinion. Any decent cigar shop will have cigars for $10-15. But you could go farther with your money by buying some whole leaf tobacco and practice making your own rolls. You can then make them any shape and size you want.

New to rolling. I roll 10 sticks per week. This is week number 5. These are 46 x 5. The dolls and then freshly wrapped going in the dry box.

I feel good about the bunching, binding and into the mold for 24 hours (with a couple of turns). My wrapping and capping needs a lot more practice.

Something I've been meaning to ask about this particular size, the enclosed foot, is that excess binder gathered into a nub , or is it a separate cap?
I have a core of bunched leaf that is about the size of the nipple. I have played with it a few ways, and find a mix of ligero and seco is what I gravitate towards. Binder is pretty loose around the end and gets molded into shape. I pulled of a single leaf wrap once, and decided it was just easier for me to do a separate cap for the foot.

I attempted to do just that yesterday. These are drying down before I wrap them.

I do exactly the same. Has helped me a lot to learn about casing and filling bunches. Because doing it before you wrap the wrapper you still have more memory of what you did with which bunch.

I got a sample of aged cheroot leaf from a friend and decided to try my hand at rolling a "proper" cigar. I tried making a flag and cap with corn slurry as glue but that didn't work out. What are some good techniques for wrapping with narrow, short leaves? I'd like to be able to reach 5" or more, so I'll try chaining two wrappers leaves together next.
