Can someone please help me understand “clipping” transplants?
I’m reading Bob’s book (Grow Your Own Cigars) and it’s mentioned a couple of times and I want to make sure I understand what’s going on.
Are we saying that the leaves of small starts are clipped if they encroach on the space of neighboring starts? Or…
Is this just getting rid of the lowest leaves that are touching the dirt. What will become the “sand lugs”?
I was intrigued when it’s mentioned again on page 55 as resulting in higher nicotine levels!
Any help clarifying this point is greatly appreciated!
