I have been looking at nwtseeds.com trying to figure out which VA and Burley varieties to get to make my own Swedish Match Ettan snus, snuff, and pipe tobacco. The list is overwhelming with how many VA and Burleys there are. Can you make any suggestion on which varieties of burley and VA I should choose for my Ettan clone?

Given the cooking and the addition of alkali, the specific varieties chosen probably won't matter. I would suggest picking a Bright Leaf variety based on your climate's growing season (short vs. long) and perhaps productivity. Using Bright Leaf assumes that it has been flue-cured, or as a second choice, sun-cured. TN 86 (~80 days) and TN 90 (~70 days) are highly productive varieties of burley, though any of the others would likely work out just as well.
