Be careful with the watering - tobacco does not like wet feet.
It is normal for these plants to show wilt on hot or sunny days. Check your plants in the early AM or evening, if they're showing some wilt at these times, then it's time to water. This is true, whether it's a new transplant or a full size plant.

Got the 100 silk leif in the ground and run hoses to back gardens.run water for 4 hr.s. I know they wilt in the heat of the day but 4 or 5 didnt come back I think the dry weather and the moles diggin under them was to much. Today Im going to till and put out herbicide.

I'm not sure what the herbicide is for, but keep in mind that tobacco is a broadleaf weed, and exquisitely sensitive to herbicide drift.

I use a granular hearicide to stop sead weeds {treflan}Ive done this in my garden for years. It gives you a head start on weeds. You till it in 2 weeks befour you put plants in the ground.

I think I have mosaic virus. It in all my gardens. It looks like Im going to lose a third of my plants. ILL post a link soon to pic. Will chlorine kill it in dirt and will alcohol kill it on leif.

It boggles my mind the amount of chemicals available for use on tobacco. Who knew there was a "tobacco yellowing agent" for flue cure tobacco?
Since it appears that there is no treatment options for TMV why not experiment a little? Try a foliar spray of 3% hydrogen peroxide on both sides of the leaves and water some into the soil.

I've been putting skim milk at a rate of 5% with my Thuricide spray as insurance against the spread of TMV. I really don't know if it will help with the TMV, but it does seem to wet the leaf better.

Try the peroxide. TMV is a virus, milk and BT will do absolutely nothing for it. I doubt the peroxide will either but at least it is known to kill bacteria.fungi and viruses. By spraying both sides of the leaves, especially the underside ( and in the early morning hours) the stomata will be open and the spray will be taken up into the plant's vascular system.
