You have a lot of things going on in Wren. I see the dramatic difference in the shade grown Silk Leaf. I have some partial shade on my main patch. It has been so hot that the ones in the shade are doing better than those in the sun.

107 for the 2nd. day in a row all I can do is move the hose a round the garden and wait for shade. The water man is going to repo my house. It a'nt rained in over two weeks. On the brite side I got rid of the TMV plants An most of the rest are doing good. If nothing happens I'll have a good crop. A? Can I finish drying the steams in the kiln with the water removedfrom it .
Ive dryed some steams on the leif in the kiln. this will be nessary for my 2nd crop. I cant get it to dry in the fall with out mold and it will make room now.GEDC1378.jpg This has been stem dryed remosined packed in a box and redryed.

When regrow'in plants is it better to start with stalk or cut it to the stump. I've started them from stumps.GEDC1395.jpg

Starting from a stump will reduce the pest burden. I would limit it to a single sucker per stump (to maximize leaf size). Folks in most parts of the US can't get much from a second crop, but in the very deep South, you may get a meaningful yield of adequate quality to be worth the trouble.
