I bet Bob steps in here and reminds us that physical attributes of these are going to be difficult/impossible to judge due to their close planting/crowding; just like plants in buckets often have a very different appearance than the same variety field grown. I would wait to assess them until they get a little more height, maybe even consider thinning those groups to two or three plants each then giving a few weeks to see how they develop. But please take my unknowing opinion with a grain of salt; I am only on my second year.

1,3,& 4 with the more textured leaves most closely resemble my VA Gold that I grew last year, when they were a similar size.

I have taken that into account so I try to imagine what they would look like in the crowded state they are in, which isn't hard, because thats exactly how they are outside in my garden. Comparing them to grin pic I think I agree with DGBama.

Well, I tried looking for a pic similar to it but the closest I had seen was the mottle viruse but even that is not very much like it. I sould mention that the plants are healthy and the leaf looks and feels great. The pic doesn't do it justice and if you didn't know any better you'd think it might be a verigation of the leaf. Any way, I'll keep an eye on it and see how it cures when the time comes.

I agree. You may have a nutritional deficiency. Drink 1 glass of V8 juice daily for two weeks, then check the disease pictures again to see which virus the plants most resemble at that point.

A Jedi master...as wise you are...Obi Bob Kanobi. Your comments always give me hope :D.

Anyway, the plants on either side of the yayladags don't have the splotchs and they should show the same as well. There is no rhyme or reasom to blotches and do not follow the veins of the plant. the lower leaves seem to have turned solid green again. It reminds in a way of some of the VBL i had last year that the new leaf cam out yellow but then turned green as it matured then back to yellow as it ripened. With the VBL there was no rhyme or reason to it either with the plants that did that scatered here and there but there neighbor plants a mere 1' away weren't like it.
