I am thinking of making Cigar rollers to sell . similar to the Lieberman roller .
I was wondering if there would be enough sales to clear my investments .
This price is not set in stone at this time until I get my cost and time figure completed .
They are 12 to 12.5 wide .
You can roll long filler or scrap with these rollers .
Made by me in the good old USA

Nice Work, I guess you got that spring steel figured out.
I would buy one but I don't smoke to many Cigars.

I am tweaking around with the top plate some to get a good roll . I am almost satisfied with the way the machine works .
Once I get the top plate the way I want it I can make the rest the same shape . I will keep the best plate for a pattern .
It is not as easy as it looks .

With most things in life the amount of sales are going to depend on the selling price. I would probably buy 1 even though I hand roll my own cigars. My idea is to sell it to my buddy that really wants to roll his own but just can't ( or won't give it a good try). You could probably sell tons of these by traveling to several of the BIG tobacco stores like JR's and Cigar International. Show up there with a bunch of cigar leaf and some rollers. Those places typically will host a "real" Cuban guy that will hand roll cigars. I think if people could see how easy it is to do for themselves and how readily available whole leaf is they'd buy this on the spot!

Nice looking machine BB... is that tobacco leaf residue all over your hands...:)

I took the pictures on my tobacco stripping room table . I had been stripping burley that day and that is tobacco gum from handling stalks and picking leaves .
That is my left hand , the one I use to pick the leaves and I hold the stalk with my right hand .
At times the gum gets so thick that I have to stop and roll / peel some off my hands . That picture , the gum was light because I hadn't been stripping very long . Give it to lunch and the gum would be 25+ times thicker .

I believe the price will be some where around $365 plus shipping . That is not set in stone yet .

I am still trying to find a real good material to make the rolling mat out of .

I remember you telling me there are Amish around you. They use oil cloth on their buggies. I think that would make a good mat.

Any idea what the biggest ring gauge your machine will make? Someone's going to have to come up with a 1 lb. "cigar" for our brothers up north.

I will have to check with some of the Amish around here and see if I can get my hands on the buggy covers .That might be just what I am looking for , water resistant and clean with a rag .

I guess I could bend a whole sheet and extend my frame to make a 2 pound cigar if we have to .
Wonder if they would believe the cigar is wrapped in reconstituted tobacco if we used brown paper as wrapper ?

...There's no law saying you have to leave it in cigar form to smoke it...

If the cigar/plug manufacturer had already stemmed and blended it, maybe even cased if it wasn't too sticky. Rolled tight, 2" Dia. X 12" Long would be just about a pound. It might even be a good idea for domestic distribution.

Larry;
Any Amish stores in the aera? They should have the oil cloth or maby a blacksmith? In the 80s dad brought me out a 18 collar so I could hitch up my horse.
