Cold weather in USA

By 7 AM there was already at least 3 inches on the ground, and this storm is expected to last until 6 AM Friday. Right now it's snowing very heavily, and the snowflakes are some of the largest I've ever seen. This is looking like it's going to be a bad one.

I guess it's going to be a snowbound day staying at home and smoking heavily!

Just when you are thinking it can't get worse, it does ... now it's changed to heavy freezing rain, and that is the greatest danger when it comes to power lines. We've had subfreezing temperatures for days on end (just checked, current temperature is 34 degrees F), and now we have to get just above freezing, just when you don't want it to get warmer? Nature is just being cruel now!

Ugh! I just found out the forecast is for another snow storm on Saturday.

it is 22 f. in central ct. and snowing like crazy. we already have several inches and it is suposed to turn into a wintery mix then back to snow before stoping sometime tomorrow in the morning. they say we could get 14 " but if this keeps up it might be more. all as i can say is this sucks.

Wait you're complaining about 22*F? It's 23*F here for the first time in about 3 weeks, a light dusting of snow this morning and I actually can see the big ball of fire in the sky.

Right now, I'll trade your 23 F for my 33 F (the temperature dropped a degree since I last checked), if it means there's no danger of losing electricity and indoor heat. Incidentally, it appears like before the change to freezing rain, we were already at better than 6 inches. That snow was coming down furiously earlier this morning. The freezing rain has since stopped ... at the moment there's lull in the storm.

it has been in the single digits and lower at night around here for a while and not warm enough during the day to melt any of the snow from the last two storms.

Sorry everybody, but its still damn hot in sunny S Africa, sitting in the office, big overhead fan on. Temp 93F, had a bit of rain last night. In some way I envy the cold weather you guys have, at least one can dress up for the cold, here in the heat one can only drink more and dream of cooler weather.

Hello all, been real busy, so I have not had a chance to get in here, not as cold here, as in the US, but pretty chili at nights,
I can't speak for him, but if it was my wife, it would be, because if I told her, earlier, before we went to bed, then she would get mad, and there would be the "cold shoulder", and she would steal all the blankets, and covers, long cold night. So I would wait, and after she is sleeping, quietly go out, take het car out, and put mine in. That way in the morning, when she sees what I did, and before she has a chance, to say anything, I am out the door and on my way to work. By the end of the day, she will have calmed down, less chance of a fight.

Women. Can't live with them and they don't let you smack them around any more.

Sell her van to make room for your car, light a cigar, and go to bed with it. Tell the judge you don't believe in child support.

You don't really need to go that far, it's supposed to be 74 F here today. We have the potential for crappy weather. it just doesn't happen often.
