exporting cigars from canada to usa

Can i mail a gift to buddy? couple of sticks to USA from canada? i'm getting conflicting info from USPS and UPS sites.

i';m thinking like 5 cigars?

any one have experience with this?

you would be suprised what you could send through the mail. i never had a problem sending anything. if it was an airasol or ied you might have a problem getting it on a plane. if it only smokes and dosent go boom you should be ok. there are ppl in ak that used to smoke cigarettes but now they smoke? legally

I have sent and received "candles" with a buddy in Canada many times.

According to the tobacco act and Canada post's regulations a canadian is not allowed to put "tobacco" in the mail or cause it to be sent into the mail. However, I'm sure it happens all the time without too many hangups. There may even be a way to do it legally but I haven't found it yet.

I like the "candles" idea, never thought of that lol.

Matty Actually Canada Post allows mailing tobacco products, as long as it is inside of the same Province. Provincial tax has to be paid.
