I pulled some nice corojo seco leaves to use as a binder and sprayed them down last night. I just went to take them out of the bag and they have a strong ammonia smell to them. Should I spray down the rest of the corojo to re ferment that as well or will it be fine to smoke as long as I don't get it too high of a case?

i have the same problem with some dom seco i just got from Don. It's the cibao valley stuff. really strong ammonia smell, awful to the nose and cold draw...but it smokes ok i guess.
in theory this is fermented 12 months and 2016 crop year and the more premium leaf in the dom seco selection at WLT.

since i don't have a kiln, is there any suggestions to clean up the smell?

Open the bag, or lay out all the leaf. Allow it to completely dry. Then place it into a large plastic bag, and lightly mist it with water. Allow it to rest and rehydrate overnight. Repeat, until it is in the proper case for safe storage back in its original bag.

I have the CV dom seco and it had the same problem. It took about a week of drying it out and rehydrating to get the ammonia gone but it did work. Little extra work butworth it in my book.I like this leaf alot and will be buying more next order I put in.
