Floating plant cultivation

Hi,

i start tobacco growing in 2 weeks with floating plant cultivation indoors and transplant them in the garden in may.

My soil is peat with pH-value 6,0 for floating plant cultivation.
I want to add bentonit in order to get good watering.
Does the bentonit raise or change the pH-value?

Bentonite will raise pH values. The amount will depend on the specific chemical makeup of the bentonite used.

Which are the parameters i have to care for?
Can you recommend a sort or a brand which do raise it only a little?
