Hello, all; I'm Scott from NW Georgia, just outside Chattanooga, TN. I'm 46 years old, retired professional opera soloist, and I've owned S. Tinker Pipe and Cigar Accessories since 2010. I'm just beginning my tobacco growing and blending journey. I've been fortunate to have help getting started in the right direction, and I look forward to being a part of this community.

Typical smokes are McClelland Red Cake, Fragrant Mature Cake, and Stave Aged No. 35, as well as Penzance.

Cheers!

Thanks for the welcome, Bob! I'm a spinto tenor. I sang a great deal of Jose in Carmen, Otello, Radames in Aida...those sorts of roles.

I was booted from my 7th grade choir, because my voice was too low. I ended up as a lyric tenor. At the age of 76, I can usually pull a 440-A out of thin air, then verify the pitch with a tuning fork. Some sort of meaningless vanity in doing that. But recently my 440 has varied by a half-tone either way.

I believe that performing on stage is more addictive than nicotine. I never did opera on-stage, but a number of now-forgotten musicals. (Roar of the Greasepaint; Tintypes; Working...)

Bob,
It's wonderful to have made the acquaintance of a fellow singer and performer. Thank you for sharing with me. As we tenors tend to be neurotic and very in our "feels", knowing notes by where we put them to phonate each is as good as perfect pitch. I know it must feel good that you can still pull that note out at will.
