Guys-

I'm using heat pads under my seed trays for germination. Should I continue to use the heat until I transplant outdoors? My room stays between 64-66 degrees.

Any help would be appreciated.

As long as the heat pads don't get too hot, you should be fine.

I did see a study by some university several years ago, that suggested, once the seeds sprout, the plants did best being put in a dark area at about 55F. It would take some time, but I could probably find it on an old computer.

I'm pretty sure most guys keep there seedlings in warm areas and they do fine.

I use a heat pad until I transplant the sprouts to larger pots, then remove it.

I wondered what that was. I thought it was a reflection of something. Are the rope lights submerged in the water or hanging above it?

Sitting below the container. I have one of those reflective windshield covers on the ground to insulate it from the cement floor. Then the coil of lights are underneath the tub.

That's exactly where I have my set-up, in my basement. During germination I attempt to maintain 80 F with in the "greenhouse". Once I decide to separate to larger pots, I remove them from the greenhouse and put them under lights but remove any additional heat sources and leave them open to the air while the lights are on, and cover them when I turn the light out.
