Each is discussed and played. What music were they ideal for? Why did they change? What were the advantages and disadvantages of the changes. An hour very well spent. I didn’t realize how little I knew about the actual history of the guitar. Movable gut frets, half flat notes, and I was so surprised to learn that tablature has been in use for 400 years! I always thought of it as a modern day cheat sheet, not much older than the internet.
I have always been intrigued with eastern music but after seeing an Arabic Oud for the first time on this video I don’t know if I could ever play one with my pot-belly!
Very informative video and super talented hosts.
