Ok, so I have had my fun with building "Brute de Forge" Chavetas. Now I want to challenge myself by forging a Chaveta that is on par(weight,size and shape) with the commercial ones. I have a trick up my sleeve so you wont have to tape the spine. I am using @waikikigun 's as a template.
Lets start with the steel - help me pick me out a highend steel, yeah, its not going to be cheap. One issue with @GreenDragon 's Chaveta is it rusting due to hand moisture. I have my eye on CPM-S35VN which has awsome corrosion resistance with killer edge retention. What do you think?
