HTGT is very much a beginners site. FTT is much more advanced in every aspect of tobacco growing, production, processing and marketing. We much more analytic here, but there is a lot more work to do. We're constantly adding to the lists of which variety best serves the intended use.

The list of advantages with this site are endless, but the main thing is...it's a free site...the site is what the members want it to be and it is what they make it.
I chanced on this site through wtb site maybe a month or so after started, searching whole leaf, and almost immediately joined up and quit visiting htgt.
I've been here since the beginning and like chicken see absolutely no reason to visit any other sites on the subject. I never ran afoul of the other forums, just see no point in them now that FTT is mature.
As a new member and beginning grower I have switched back and forth a bit between htgt and this forum. There are very few new posts at htgt but the old posts still contain a lot of depth for a new grower in terms of learning how to get started and solve problems. Of course some of the information has to be sorted out because there are conflicting views as to the best solutions/methods, which are highly dependent on the climate/locale.

I can think of [one] good reason to visit old sites, that is to Look up old posts by certain individuals on certain subjects, Some people have been sharing info for yrs.
