Increased taxes on pipe tobacco

My son was telling me he heard that the Government was going to up taxes on the baged pipe tobacco because smokers were buying it to make cigarettes .

Has anyone else heard the same thing . Im sure it will happen but when ?

yeah. .That'd really put a crimp in things for me.

I do smoke cigarettes, but only due to a lack of good quality affordable pipe tobacco round here.

Taxes get raised and I doubt I will be getting pipe tobacco anywhere at all, not even when I get back to VA.

With the plants I sent ya you shouldn't have to buy much tobacco at all . You will need to learn how to prepare it and make you very own smoke .Something to be proud of .

They all ready raised the prices here.
1 dollar a 12 oz bag about a month ago.
That's in Oregon across the river from me.
I live in Washington and my heart isn't in good enough shape too look at
the prices here.
But if they do it like roll your own at 2000% man oh man every poor person that uses it for cigarettes
is going to be hit hard here is a link

HR 4439 is the big pipe tobacco increase on the federal level. Nothing has happened since january 2010 with that since then. That is not saying it is dead, just sleeping right now. Go out and talk nice to your tobacco plants. The tax increase that is affecting dkh2 is a state tax increase.
SCHIP was the biggie that happened april 2009 with a 2300% increase in ryo tobacco tax. Prior to that I could buy ryo locally for about $20.00 per# Overnight it went to $60.00 per# locally. or more... Pipe tobacco was not hit that hard at that time.
