Just ordered some WLT blends

Got the Baltic and Turkish pipe kits coming and can’t wait to get them put together. I find commercial tobacco to be a little heavy on the added flavor (I enjoy Captain Black in spite of the heavy vanilla, butFox and Hound is too heavy on the menthol). Any need to blend the casing in a little at a time for taste, or am I overthinking this? Any tips on what to do when the box arrives appreciated.

If you are going to shred the tobacco with a shredder, add the flavorants after shredding to prevent gumming up the cutters.

Exactly the sort of insight I was hoping for. I may smoke a little of each by itself to learn what each brings, then try without casing. Maybe mix a little up with casing to see what I like. Almost like SCIENCE!

This is my first go at WLT, so can’t compare. I can say that the uncashed sweepings off the board were delightful. They were invaded blend of everything but the Latakia. I half cased half of it and am leaving it separate for the night. I’ll blend it for breakfast tomorrow and compare. Then I’ll gradually add Latakia. Couldn’t be happier with the experience so far.
