Let the leaf mingle, or keep them apart?

I have numerous kinds of whole leaf tobacco that I store in an airtight tub to control humidity. Each purchased variety is in the bag in which I received it, but the home grown VA is loose in the bottom. All of my Perique is in a sealed jar, separate from the rest.

I normally keep the ends of the bags folded over, but I’ve noticed that even after half a year in the tub some of it still feels very dry. If I open up the bags of all the varieties - Burley, dark air cured, MD, and so on - will some affect the aroma and taste of the others long term? None will be in contact, but obviously when I open the tub the first thing that hits the nose is the Latakia followed by some of the more pungent leaf.

I use the same setup in storing leaf but organize cigar varieties between filler, binder, wrapper, Burley/pipe in their own individual totes with Tennessee Fire Cured and Latakia excluded and stored on a shelf. The fire cured are just so pungent they will ABSOLUTELY alter my other varieties during storage. I dont worry too much about the fire cures drying but I handle with caution as to prevent shattering the leaf. Inside the totes if I notice leaf is getting dry I add a bag of moistened "scrap" leaf.
