Heartbreaking to look at. But much of it may recover. Aside from the inevitable suckers that will spring up, you may find that the original growth tips may have survived on some (?many) of the stalks. If the wind blew the upper leaves over the tips prior to the hail, it may have provided some shelter. I would be patient with each plant, to see which ones need to be replaced by their suckers, and which will resume growth at the tip.
