About 10 years ago this was a hog lot and was used as a rabbet shed. I used the the junk i had laying around and added some half or better walls. right now i got about 20 leaves hanging inside and they are doing good. This thing si so redneck i hate to even add a pic of it yall will make fun of it. :D

Next year im wanting to grow around 250 to 300 plants depends on how much my brother is willing to help.

My plan is to move the cages out, boat out and build a rack system to hold the leaves and to be able to stalk cure

I confess. I did laugh. However, it's pretty much the design of the burley barns in West Virginia. It provides protection from sun and rain. Depending on your average humidity during curing season, the open ventilation may or may not need to be closed off with some plastic sheeting.

It looks like there is enough floor space to hang 300 plants. Green tobacco weighs a lot (check the Growers' FAQ for some numbers). Make sure you rig a method of suspension that can bear the weight. There don't appear to be very many studs in there, so you may have to add some structural support--especially if you plan on doing any stalk harvesting. 1/8" braided nylon rope, tied to carriage bolts in the studs, can support green stalks across the width of the shed. Primed leaf weighs a lot less.

The curing shed didnt cost me a dime. the shed was there and the tin was free i removed it from a old metal building that had blown over plus. My only concern was for the backer but from the looks of the leaf that is in there now it should be good.
this time of year it stays around the 90's and is humid 60%+ most of the time. So i guess i will let Mother Nature do what she does best. All in all im looking forward to next years grow.

Id be concerned with mold..

Im in fla. And my experience with using a shed that had a lot of openings.had me developing mold on a lot of my leaves..

You may want to seal it up and use a fan...and a heater if the humidity gets too high.

i have a hum. and temp gauge out there. The high has been 80 on humidity at night but during the day it has been hitting around 35 to 40 so im keeping the floor damp. wish we would get some of that rain again. It just up and quit raining and none in sight

I hear that. Mine don't leak to bad so when I get ready to fill the barn with baccy I guess I will have to do a lot more fishing. Hmmm this is a win win situation.
