No Suckers?

Noticed on my Burley and Virginias, no suckers. Two of my Virginias are going to seed, and one should be bagged now. I recall the mention that too much N in the soil will encourage sucker growth. I rarely used fert, and only watered when the plants didn't recover from midday wilt by early morning. My Virginias are doing great, but my Burleys could be doing better.

On many varieties, suckers will not show up until after topping the bud heads. Then look out.
