Too much here. Lol. I started with kits, then went to lbs to try out. When I found blends that worked out, I started to keep 1-2 lbs of specific leaf on hand. If I really liked certain leaf, I may have ordered more. Now it’s out of control. Ha ha ha. I always said to myself, start small and see if it’s something I continue to enjoy before going crazy with it. Nowadays I keep a spreadsheet with “inventory”. I look at each leaf, almost like seasonings are to cooking. Currently I’m sitting on about 150-200 lbs (of purchased leaf) on a regular basis. However, that may be a lot for some or not much at all to others. Personally I do something with leaf every day. Whether it’s jotting down a blend to try, prepping leaf to roll with, binding up a blend, wrapping up some sticks from a previous session, or all the above. Eventually, if you have even the slightest green thumb, you may consider growing your own. If you go the growing route, based upon my research, you should hit up @skychaser with Northwoods SeedsSo I’m exploring the kits still and thinking about making larger purchases and I was wondering how much leaf everyone keeps on hand? I know this will vary WIDELY but I’m just curious.
True most of my buddies dont smoke at all but they keep asking me for my cigarettes and whatnot only a few have the gumption for a decent cigar though. And of course if you have friends that like to smoke your cigars as well
Lol. It took some time to build up that much. Some were to be able to have on hand preemptively while putting together blends. In my opinion, better to be prepared!@FrostD 200lbs! Your loaded for bear arnt you and I plan on getting more cigar oriented seeds next year. But I just bought 2 more of the kits and a pound of the habano obscuro wrapper. So we’ll see how much I wind up stock piling over the coming months.
Things can change. I used to buy Izmir Ozbas and Prilep but those are no longer available and haven't been for awhile. Those were replaced by Katerini and Krumovgrad. Sometimes different cigar leaf varieties come and go. I don't know for sure, but my guess is a multitude of factors can affect availability, including fluctuating suppliers, business shut downs, fluctuating weather in various countries, natural disasters, wholesale availability or radical price changes, changing regulations in a multitude of countries, etc, etc. to name just a few.I would be ok with 30lbs. When everything comes in I’ll be at 5 plus what I’m growing but that isn’t going to be a whole lot. Kind of a side note. The stuff WLT has in stock let’s say it says they have x amount left do they typically try to re stock that if possible or no? I know it depends on what’s available to them but just curious so I know how to order the things I like
