This is my tobacco this year. Due to the severe drought, no plants are as tall as my waist. Have you ever had this?

Rice and corn crops will be 30% less this year in Italy, due to severe drought. Po river (the biggest and longest river in Italy) is almost dry, Adriatic Sea is 60 kilometers inland. Call yourself lucky you still have something to harvest @GIL . My brother in law, a cow breeder, has completely lost one of his three hay harvests due to drought, he will have to slaughter Half of his cows before winter. Climate has definitely changed, sad but true.

Edit: although small, your plants still look healthy, you’ve done a good job!

In your photos, the leaves seem to be growing fairly normally (though I can't really judge their dimensions), while the stalk height is short. The distance between leaf nodes is diminished. I would expect the crop to have a more intense flavor and aroma this season. (Think of it like Eiswein. Dire circumstances sometimes produce something exceptional.)

Same here, I have that petite red Canadian going to seed already at about a foot tall. I was thinking because of the variety but then most of them started doing it the del gold and the Virginia. The lack of water was my first thought too. I pulled most of the flowers off, but here in Maine now til September is when they really grow a lot, to see them flowering is definitely a bummer

Actually I forgot the essential, I wanted to ask if under these conditions, the leaves will be good or not, in fact Bob just answered me without asking - thank you -. Actually those plants are mature, the flowers have been broken for a week or two and some lower leaves are ready for picking. The harvest will be small, but if the leaves are good, I am satisfied.
