Hi all,

Im basically new to growing tobacco. I tried it once before and didnt make it all the way through the process.

Im buying seeds off of Victory Seeds. These are the varieties I have in my cart:
Gold burley
virginia bright leaf
Black Sea Samsun
Little Yellow
Ky 5
Cherry Red
Silver Dollar
Silk Leaf
Shirey

my goal is to have a nice variety to experiment with cigarette blends.

if you have any recommendations of things to add or varieties to remove from the list, Id love to hear it.

thanks

Just the burley, Bright Leaf and Samsun will give you the ingredients for an American style cigarette. The Bright Leaf will need to be flue-cured or at least sun-cured, to come close to what we think of as "Virginia" tobacco.

I would suggest fewer varieties, rather than more varieties, for a first grow. You will learn so much from that first year of completing a grow, that it may influence your choices for the following season.

I was wondering how well this would work as I am also growing cherry red which I believe is Bright Leaf correct me if I'm wrong. I am planning to sun cure with the Orientals I am going to grow. Hopefully the Florida heat is enough to get a decent result.
