Well, I finally got it set up and stable. It's holding at 116degrees and 72%RH. I plan to build one from wood and foam, but for now, this seems to be ok. Probably not very efficient though........IMG_0803.jpg

Looks OK and will get the job done. A wood and foam insulated kiln would be ideal.

I keep going back and forth over where to set up a kiln. Could use the workshop or garage, or put it in the basement where it will stay warmer through the cold months just ahead because I use a hand-fired furnace to heat the house. Wondering about odors seeping up from the basement, although they could be vented outside.

this is on the back porch. once the wood and foam one is built, it should be insulated well enough to put it anywhere i want. then this tent will be used for color curing

i am considering lining the kiln in cedar like a sauna, for anti mold/mildew properties, and, i could ACTUALLY use it as a sauna.....

i wonder if i can find a sauna on craigslist? that would be a pre built kiln with a large capacity, and all digitally controlled......
