As many of you know, my family has suffered a bit of bad luck lately.
My wife's father got pneumonia this fall and it started a fatal nervous disease that led to losing the strength to go.
The same day as he was unexpectedly lying in bed, my mother got a hesitant message. It turned out she has cancer in the esophagus.
Time has passed and both have felt better sometimes and worse sometimes.
But now to the aversion:
On Monday my mother would have done an operaton which meant that the esophagus would be shortened and the stomach would move up. But when they opened her, they saw that the cancer spreads and it means they can do nothing but ease food intake for her and allow her to choose between the caregiver and thus live longer (but a more difficult life) or interrupt everything and feel a bit better, but not live for so long ..

I feel really sad for you and your family.
I sincerely share your pain.
All I wish for your mother is that she can still enjoy a lot of good moments with the people she loves.
Life is too short no matter what we do.

Take good care of your family.

So sorry to read the above. I know what you are going through and it is really hard mentally.
Our parents are so important to our lives but as offspring we do not always realise it.

My thoughts are with you, take good care of your family :)

Cheers

Jenny I know that I have some really good friends on this forum. I also know that me and my family ain't alone in this situation. And some going to turn in to a situation like this.
I am more sorry that my mother ain't just going to disappear in here sleep.

The same times can I just stand and look how my wife's father have going from a strong man (he have been both a boxer and work on the sea when he was younger) to a man that one day just codent stand up from his bed.. and both of those thing turned up the same day and have followed in a similar way all the time. If we have been lucky for one of them the other have taken a step at the other side.. there have been day's that I don't have been laughing but I have realy learn how important it is to just laug

I'm sorry too. I lived a similar situation with my mother with Alzheimer. Enjoy every single moment with your parents so, when they will never be, you can think to those moment with serenity and peace.
