Tree Identification, Help

Hi. A friend in Vancouver asked me what this tree is, but I haven't a clue. It's something that wouldn't grow here.

It would be helpful to see a photo of a leaflet up close.

It is shaped like a Silver Dollar Tree Eucalyptus.

An app on my phone says its a "Katsura" tree, but I don't know how accurate it is and I don't know the difference between a pine and a spruce (if there is one), so take my input lightly.

I suspect that the app is correct. Search google images for Katsura tree bark.
