Basically, how much of what do you mix with whatever kind of soil you use? Last year I didn't write down what I mixed together to grow the Virginia seeds I've got and I need to grab some bags of soil for the garden soon so I'd like to hear about what's worked for you. This year I'll be growing golden seal burley and brightleaf Virginia. My plan was to grab some bags of potting soil (not Miracle Gro) and a bag or two of mushroom compost, there's still most of a bag of vermiculite left over I can use, and maybe some sand. Is there anything else I should get while I'm there?

Yes, I've read through the FAQ and other parts of the forum. I'm looking for personal input on what some of you have successfully grown with when growing in pots

Perlite. You will need to loosen up the soil. Tobacco can be over watered pretty easily.
This is the soilless mix I used last year:
10 parts coconut coir hydrated with triple-20 fertilizer
5 parts perlite
5 parts vermiculite
5 parts composted cow manure or potting soil

I did some limited experiments with orchid bark that looked good, and will probably be adding some to my mix this year. Wruk53’s grow logs show great success with Cypress Mulch.
