Hello Magician :)
I have done all the mistake possible one can do, but now what should I do
I have about 4 weeks to go before freeze at night
here are my plants left
1 first question I suppose there will be no nicotina in those
2 Is it normal to have so much leaf ( Virginia gold)
Now what can I do ?
Enter those in house
cut the leaf before the freeze
and maybe cut the base leaf to give them a last boost
And i suppose they will be consider as tiny leaf !
I have about 40 of them

What would you do
tks

next year will be different

Not true. You have live plants.

Given their immaturity and the scant time remaining before first freeze—if you want thankless work to do during the autumn—then top them (remove the stalk growth tip) immediately, and plan to stalk-harvest them the day prior to first freeze. Bring the entire stalks indoors, and hang them (upside down) to color-cure. This may or may not result in worthwhile leaf.

What would I do? I would learn from the experience of this season, not bother with harvesting the leaf, then enjoy more productive results next season.

As a side note, when I first began home-growing, I used to save and (attempt to) cure every scrap of leaf, no matter how hopeless. Over the years, I've come to recognize that it is seldom worth the effort to salvage poor quality and immature leaf.

I have the same challenge as you, living in NW Ontario.
After fall equinox, pretty much all plant growth stops. They will just sit there doing nothing until the frost kills them.

So this year I harvested everything and am going to try curing it now while there is still some warm sunny days.

The leaves that turn I will use for smoking, the leaves that stay green I will turn into chew by piling them in the basement, covering with plastic, and turning once a week for a few months so that they mature a little bit more.

I'm also curing tobacco in my car since it gets hot and humid in there during the day time :)

hum you re right, what should it be 12 / 16 hoours ?
I don't know. I've never grown plants indoors to full term. I start seedlings indoors for eight weeks and roughly match daylight/nighttime hours during that period so the plants don't freak out when they go outdoors. Perhaps some indoor growers can weigh in with the recommended hours. The hours may vary depending on stage of growth.
Here is an indoor grow from member @loui loui

they are now inside (3 Days), before the freeze.
For now they seem to stand the inside transfer.
6 x 100 watt 5,000 degre kelvin ...15$ ....
temp 20 degree celsius
What can I do do to help them grow,
cut the bottom leaf ?

equivalent of 100 watt in del (14Watt)
So your wattage total is 84.
That isn't enough to grow one plant, let alone a room full. I've seen zombie tobacco plants grow in height in conditions like that, but the leaves don't really get bigger. You can just leave them until they start turning yellow. Maybe total darkness might be better. I'm not sure.

But in the future, you gotta get your tobacco in early, and have good soil. Also, never panic when the night time temperature drops to zero. I've had tobacco survive minus 2 multiple times. I'm in Edmonton and my plants are still in the garden, looking healthy.
