whole stalk hanging of primed leaf

In a quest to save hanging space I made vertical hanging sticks. The hanging nails are 4"apart (taken from the about 4" spacing of leaves on most of my stalks" offset 1" per side; resulting in a spiral of hanging points the length of the stick. An air finish nailer allows making each stick in a few minutes.

Another advantage is organizing. Label the stick then just add primed leaves as they become ripe until full. If you have many varieties but not many of each this may be useful. One stick per variety and add leaves as they become ripe.

The nailing jig is marked e every 4 inches with 4 marks 1"apart at the end. No measuring either. Lay the stick down, put a nail at each mark, rotate the stick 1/4 turn and align the end at the next 1"offset mark, repeat for each side.

I would keep a close eye on the leaves . They may wilt and stick together and start molding or rotting .
Whole stalk only has from 16 to 26 leaves on a 5 ft long stalk .

You are right; and I am. That is my one concern. So far so good though.

Need to updat the results of this. In my climate it DID NOT WORK. 7 days in, started seeing "soft stems" which I think was the start of "barn rot". In an area of low humidity where drying green is a problem, this hanging technique could be helpful.

Bama, if I were to do what you did, I would end up with grey leaves. I'm not saying that it is mold; haven't confirmed that, but compared to my current style of keeping leaves completely separated, results is what I presume to be proper curing. So are the grey leaves common/normal?

I like this idea, I am going to try it, where I plan to "hang" my leaves, a shower room, the problem is, no where to hang from, some "posts" like these , I think will work good for some Bursa I have,
edited" I say "posts" because I am going to make sort of a mod to the idea, instead of hanging the sticks, they will be long enough to let the bottom stay on the floor, the top will have the hooks, to hang the leaves.
