I was gone ask about your La Palma plants..I tried to grow those about three years ago.but they grew very short with very small leaves.so didnt grow any more was wondering how yours are doing so far?

Yes the La Palma aren't huge plants, not like the Criollo 98 or the Dom Olor they are huge. The leaves are ok for wrappers, only started topping so will see in two to three weeks times.

Them are some nice healthy looking plants..the smaller cigar plants always amazes me to look at them I'm accustomed to growing monsters..

Hows that drip line working for you??
Chicken that's all I use, saves a lot of water, weeds are much less than with overhead irrigation, especially being so dry in SA, the weeds don't germinate. As the plants get bigger I must just adjust my dripping times. I`m using 2 Lt/hr drippers. When the plants are small maybe 1 hr in the morning, but now they are big, 1 1/2 to 2 hrs, depending on the heat. I haven`t got a system to use liquid fertilizers, that I put through the drippers, but that`s next seasons project.

Be sure to use a back flow preventer between the fertilizer and your faucet so fertilizer doesn't back up into your pipes.
