I'm right there with you. No rain for 3 weeks and none in site plus the temps are averaging about 10 degrees above normal. Lucky for me I only have 75 plants to tend.

Finally finished planting today.
I rock picked inbetween the rows and then ran the lawn roller down them a couple of passes.
Nice turf between the rows this yr.
Got the drip line all hooked up.
Time to sit back and wait for the bugs to attack.

I used drip line in the veggie patch...perhaps this weekend I'll finish assembling it and bring it to life...
Still looking for a 30 gallon drum to make my solution holding tank out of..
I got a crap load of liquid fertilizer..enough to mix up 200 gallons. Of fertilizer..but I'm gonna mix it weak so I got about 260 gallons worth of raw concentrate..
I'm very interested on how the drip line works for bacca..I thought bacca didn't like having wet feet...so keep us updated..
If all goes good I may use drip line on next years crop.

Tobacco loves water, but not standing water. Constant rains that don't raise the water table to the level of the roots is perfectly fine. A drip system that does not cause the soil to become waterlogged is fine. Of course, tobacco can use only so much water. Beyond that, it's just wasted water.
My impression is that tobacco roots can endure standing water for a day or so, but by two or three days, the standing water permanently damages the roots. Well draining soil is the best preventive for root drowning.

It still has not rained it is dry and windy, dusts and pollen storms.
I have used the drip lines for 4 yrs. now. They put the water to the roots at the plant and if not forgotten and left on they don't put out a lot of water.
They work great for side dressing liquid fertilizer also.

Macs there is around 900 and I have room for 80 more if I take the center pathway and use it for leftover plants.
I only lost one start so far so I might fill the path in with plants.
Finally getting some rain. I never prayed for rain before but this Pollen and dust has to go.

I finally got some good rain tonight also. It hasn't rained on my patch since the night after I planted. I threw out some 13-13-13 Thursday and I think I got enough rain to wash some of that in. I was starting to worry that I might have to start watering so it came at a good time. I just hope DGBAMA isn't planting in mud tomorrow.
