In an earlier thread I asked Don that question and he said that he was told by the supplier that it was Habano.Wery nice and useful to see the same vitola in four different wrappers. Do you know what strain is the EC Maduro?
Looks Delish"Wide Churchill" in Ec Maduro.

That looks alot darker than the Ecuador maduro I have. Mine is more of a reddish brown that looks sort of like the corojo wrapper."Wide Churchill" in Ec Maduro.

If you scroll up to the photo above where I have four in my hand, the far-right one is corojo "oscuro" and the one next to that is this same maduro. You could average between this photo and the one above to get a sense of the "true" color of this batch. But to my eyes, both are "what this wrapper looks like." The top is in contrasty bright morning light, and the lit one is late afternoon shade. I try to color balance them accurately. That looks alot darker than the Ecuador maduro I have. I bought a pound of that stuff once and hated it so much I had to throw 1/2 lb into the trash. Melted rather than burnt and tasted like hell. Jump forward three years and on a lark I asked WLT to please toss a sample of the current batch in with my most recent order. Based on smoking the cigar you see in that photo I immediately ordered 2 lbs.Dang. This post resulted in me ordering the Ecuador Maduro wrapper.
Half of the pound I got was fine and the other half is some weird looking leaf. It's thick and has a funny feel to it that's hard to explain. When it gets wet it almost disintegrates.I bought a pound of that stuff once and hated it so much I had to throw 1/2 lb into the trash. Melted rather than burnt and tasted like hell. Thank you, Charly. I like them a lot too.Beautiful cigar !
I love long cigars
Thanks. I agree that it's not the easiest vitola to nail. It's really tough to make a 40 ring cigar 7 inches long, yet still a perfect parallel. Impressive.
