Happy International pipe smoking day!

Croatia? Cravates and Ivan Vucetic [among other scientists] comes to mind.
In pipe smoking forums was another guy from Croatia named Igor with the nick name Piperman, do you know him?

Josip Broz TITO...

Broz was smoking cigarettes with his pipe, he visited Greece but here there are different opinions about him. Some Croatians have come in Greece as turkish allies against us in the Independence War at 1821, i don't think that members of SS "Handschar" (1st Croatian) took action with Germans here but for sure i see many Croatian tourists in our islands [we pay attention to the licence plates].
As for the Yugoslavia era the Yogo [Zastava Koral] was popular back in the 80's [my cousis had one] and some shooters had Zastava pistols in the early 90's

Igor had told me that there are no pipe makers or restorers there, is there a kind of prohibition about smoking in some areas?

A lot of mixed feelings about Tito here aswell. History was turbulent in the balkans.
There are actually 4 active pipemakers in Croatia: Daniel Mustran, Domagoj Telišman(Dotter pipes), Davorin Đenović, and Marinko Neralić.
I've been also making pipes as a hobby for few years now.

Enjoyed some Uhle's Blend 00 (Burley) in a Cob on the way to work.
If you have not tried this, and enjoy a good Burley, I highly recommend it.

Our weekend weather was also in the 60s to the 40s. Except for us, that was the wind speed. The lake in my driveway had a distinct and intimidating chop.

I also burned a hole right through the side of the cob, on my favorite, tall sitter--home-made. I couldn't gather the courage to photograph it. Maybe after I've found some closure.

During the memorial service, while my 2017 corncob sitter rested peacefully in its cob casket, an inspiration crept into my awareness. To the horror of all those present, I pulled out a saw, and smote the pipe.

Really, it recovered so well that you can hardly tell that anything happened.

I'm smoking Dolomiti di Brenta Perique in it, as I write this. Since the stem required shortening, in order for the pipe to still balance in a sit, that too felt the saw. Afterwards, I also transferred the Tygon baby bottle nipple to the shortened stem.

Though no longer symbolic of bold pipe engineering, it still performs its function perfectly well. AND...it's already broken in.
