Long time out of the loop. Life got in the way, but the tobacco was on auto water so I have a crop. The plants at the farm got overrun in weeds, but there will be a crop of small leaves. Good harvest from 3 criollo 98 at the house. Little Dutch in pots did ok too. YTB in the ground stayed short, but nice leaves. Been triple digit temps with high 20’s humidity, so been picking late. Picked some criollo a little early and they dried green. Put some in a test pipe and it was like smoking an asparagus spear.

Looks like I will have some YTB, prilep, and cherry red for the pipe. Criollo and little Dutch for cigars. Working on a plan to kiln/rehydrate. Everything quickly goes to crumbly dry in this heat. Got an old CPAP machine that was recalled due to bad foam inside, but thinking about seeing if it would make a kiln fan/humidifier.

Got a crop, now need to kiln. Found a deal on a banquet warmer in an online auction. Goes to 220F, so as long as I get the moisture right I think I’m in business. Replacing door seals, but should be kilning by next weekend.
Kilning now. The warmer will eventually go to my buddy’s BBQ business, but in exchange for replacing the seals he is letting me use it this year. Holds temp like a dream. Might start trolling restaurant auction for a smaller one of my own. Better halfhas not even complained about the near eye watering off gas. I’ve assured her that it will decrease. It will decrease, right…
