We actually have a separate showcase for home rolled cigars.

Ending a quite hectic day with the wise man corojo from foundation cigars (made my father cigars). Tastes exactly like the my father connceticut robusto which is quite unusual. This is a corojo 99 wrapper not an ecudaor/connecticut shade but weirdly enough tastes exactly like a shade wrapper just a little stronger. Very nice nevertheless!

Smoking the new my father blue Honduras line blend. Honduras filler and binder with a connecticut broadleaf wrapper. Absolutely beautiful smoke! Im not a big fan of broadleaf wrappers but pepin has done it right again with this blend. Pleasure to smoke!

An excellent smoke!

I wish I could say the same for what I smoked today. I didn't take a photo, but it was a Sinistro Mr. White Gold. I usually enjoy Sinistro cigars, but not this one. The Mr. White Gold as Andullo blended into the filler, which lent an earthiness that seemed to conflict with the other flavors in the cigar.

Enjoying this Don pepin garcia blue label lancero right after my takeaway meal. 7 1/2 inch x 38 ring gauge. I've smoked this a few times last year before the UK had a stupid price hike on cigars. Again cannot fault any of pepin's blends and the constructions, they are perfection! I do prefer the robusto/invictos but its nice to change vitolas every now and again. Something this thin really brings out the flavour of the wrapper.

Hello from Athens-Greece, today we have clouds and light rain with 68'F here.
The background is from the battle of Thermopylae 480 BC and shows what the Spartans were like at that time. The one with the horizontal crest on his helmet is King Leonidas, otherwise he was dressed like the other soldiers and fought in the front line like them. Those standing on either side of him are his bodyguards, wearing a laurel wreath because they are Olympians. The symbol and colors on Leonidas' shield were later copied by other countries (like many things from ancient Greece).
MOLON LAVE (means in Greek ''if you dare, come and get them")

Just finished work and had a light breakfast. As I looked in the humidor, I found this little bad boy. L'atelier roxy maduro from tatuaje. 3 1/2 x 50 i believe. Nicaraguan filler, binder and connecticut broadleaf wrapper. The typical tatuaje nutty (cashew) notes with a little wood (cedar). Draw is very restricted though. I thought it might just be this one unlucky stick that i got but i remember smoking this last year and the draw was the same. Anyway Decent smoke to end my night and wind down before I get some shut eye. Overall I'd give this cigar a 5 maybe 6/10. I know pete Johnson can do better with his blends, especially after being the son in law of pepin garcia!

Only 1 night off work this week due to the extra overtime available. So decided to try this Oliva CSWS cigar. Its an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over nicaraguan filler, binder. 5 1/8th x 42 ring gauge, I believe they call the vitola a mareva? Such a beautiful smoke it tastes like a cross between the serie O and the serie V. Slight spice which lights up the nostrils when retrohaled/bridged through the nose. Chocolate and coffee notes throughout the whole stick with some slight woody tinges hovering in and out every now and again. The funny thing about this is that it was made for the world cigar smoking championship and the slowest smoker would win. I tried smoking as slow as I could and got about 45 mins out of this which to me is impressive considering the size. I usually smoke a robusto in around that time. Anyway a beautiful smoke, if you like nicaraguans especially Oliva then i would recommend you put a couple in your humidors if you ever come across them.

Tell you what... You will be hard pressed to find a better cheap cigar than this $6 gem. Thick plumes of smoke. All the notes of flavor were low key with pepper being the most outstanding one followed by coffee and earth. Hints of cocoa would make it through if looking for it. Tip was incredibly sweet, almost too much but a very enjoyable cigar especially for the price. I will absolutely be buying more of these.

Just finished work. Came home and had a little nosy in my humidor and found this buenaventura bv mini maduro. 3.5 inch x 50. Nicaraguan binder filler and Mexican san andres maduro wrapper. Tbh im not a massive fan of san andres wrappers as they taste quite chalky. Prefer CB when it comes to maduro as I enjoy that chocolate note, its what I look for in a maduro cigar. Overall this isn't a bad smoke for £6.59. Its quite cheap for a cigar here in the UK. I don't really agree on giving average smoke times as everyone smokes at their own pace, but for me this lasted about 20-25mins whilst watching innovative videos on YouTube haha.
In conclusion I'd give this a solid 8/10. Will try the 'natural' wrapper variation next time.

It's worth noting that during the "air-curing" of San Andres leaf, the excessive humidity in the curing barns is driven off by building small fires of dried banana plant waste. That is what gives commercial, San Andres leaf a unique taste and aroma. I have grown San Andres leaf, and air-cured it in clean air, and it simply resembles most other Caribbean-type cigar tobacco varieties.

After smoking some medium/full strength cigars for the last couple of week, I decided I'd go for mild/medium tonight just to refresh my palate. Looking through the humidor I found this arturo fuente flor fina 858. 6 x 47. Dominican filler, binder and Cameroon wrapper. I very rarely smoke Cameroon wrapper but when i do, my God do i enjoy it. It has such a specific taste that you don't get with other wrappers. Its a nice medium strength smoke with a quite complex flavour profile. I also don't buy many fuente cigars as prices are starting to hike for these. Would love to try the opus X line but I refuse to pay extortionate amounts of money for them. Maybe if i ever go for a holiday to thr states or the dom. Republic i would buy a few, but not here in the UK!

Nice afternoon for a cigar, and speaking of mild...I won a box of Caldwell Eastern Standard Euro Express at an auction, 5.7x44, right between a robusto and a toro; after a week in the humidor and the color of the foot looks nice, very dense cigar.

Hostages freed, cease fire and Trump's Peace Plan starting, seems my choice of smokes comes down to a) Cohiba Lanceros, highly over-rated, too expensive and iffy quality...nah, time to try the Caldwell, seems the perfect cigar for the occasion. "Live East, Die Young" is the motto of the cigar, described as not your father's Conneticut according to the card included in the box. Indonesian binder, Ecuadorian wrapper, Dom/Nicaraguan filler.

Mild but very interesting flavors, the Indo/Ecuador combo works very nicely and grows on you by the second half; draw was perfect, construction beautiful, solid stick and really smokeable down to the last quarter of the cigar. At aboout $3 a cigar, auction, $4 at the discount sellers this is one of the nicest cigars I've smoked, burns perfectly, beautiful ash.

Last year Robert Caldwell joined Landisi Enterprises so it will be interesting to see what happens with Caldwell Cigars going forward, in the meantime ... like peace in the middle east, somethings are just meant to be enjoyed for the moment.

"if you're not running with us, run from us" ~ Robert Caldwell

Cheers
