Due to extenuating circumstances beyond our control, WLT will not be restocking cigar tobaccos for the foreseeable future. The costs of shipping, customs brokerage, processing, additional shipping, and recovery from quintuple-bypass surgery have made it unmanageable to engage further in cigar tobaccos.

I'll continue to seek a reputable customs broker and consider any new prospects that might present themselves, but I'll not be actively seeking new sources. So, if we carry something you like, I'd suggest getting it now.

Thank you for your many years of support, and if the right conditions are met, we might bring it back someday.

Oh man! This is a bummer Don! WLT has the best cigar tobacco offerings that I’ve tried out there. I’ll echo @jackpine here and say that your health is definitely first priority. The process of getting the tobacco stateside seems to be an interesting navigation when taking into consideration everything that’s been going on these days. Hopefully, the dust settles and allows a better partnership with a customs broker. I know at some point soon here I’ll be scoping out at backfilling your cigar tobacco offerings. If there’s anything additional that can be done, please reach out!

For those new if you see the tobacco buy it now the tobacco does not go bad. As for the customs and stuff need to write your congressman or someone that supports the same political viewpoint on how this nightmare is affecting you. Hoping it gets rectified as a lot rely on good cigar tobacco.

Will pipe tobaccos still be available?
Yes it will be. It's because of the Dominican etc and tariffs. In past posts on Virginia wanting Canadian leaf for its sweetness. American flue cured etc for Canadian tobacco. It's the same for strawberries ours are much sweeter. They did a study on it and it was concluded that becuase of our colder climate that the plant has to produce more sugar so the fruit will mature. What makes tobacco unique is its growing region. It's quite important so will a strawberry still be a strawberry yes it will still taste kind of like a strawberry from Canada but it will never taste the same. It's like that with tobacco.

As someone just starting out this is disheartening, but I wholly support your decision to prioritize your health. I have some experience with customs as well, and sympathize with that as well.
I wondered why things didn't seem to be getting restocked mid-to-late last year when I was shopping. It makes sense now.
In my newbie opinion and experience WLT leaf is better quality and better aged that the other source I've been using, so another sad note. Perhaps I should buy in bulk and set it aside to age at home...

Best wishes for continued improved/good health Don.

Buy in bulk good tobacco doesn't go bad. Right now it's tariffs from the ideology of a free market economy to an inclusive economy American only.

Agreed. I have been allowing myself to buy more than my financial advisor would say is reasonable. I just made two panic buys from WLT and LO because of recent events. Once I roll and wrap all that I should be OK for several months. After that I might have to make a trip to Miami to see friends or call a shop I used to know in SC that might sell leaf. Been a while though.
We'll weather the storm.
(Hmm, I wonder if I could sneak some plants into the community garden and call them butterfly bushes or something...)

The competition is not as good. Like the tangled Virginia was all excellent quality. The competition was stuff that was swept off the floor and garbage. The tangled was like half a leaf or holes in the leaf something like that. Still great quality. One of the reviews I made is every year the leaf changes. One was commenting on a thin leaf another year a thick leaf. That's how leaf goes. If you see something you like snap it up and it doesn't go bad.
