Seven Moral Rules Found All Around the World

In an anthropological study of 60 cultures from around the world, folks at the University of Oxford have assembled a list of seven globally accepted moral rules:

1. help your family
2. help your group
3. return favours
4. be brave
5. defer to superiors
6. divide resources fairly
7. respect others' property

Bob's extrapolation to the forum:

1. Your family is way more important than this forum.
2. Helping your group is what FTT is all about.
3. Returning favors among forum members promotes community.
4. Bravery is not only standing up for what seems right, but also sharing your mistakes and disasters in your endeavors. And don't forget to post your ugly cigars, in addition to the beauties.
5. Who should be regarded as superiors in the realm of tobacco production and finishing, as well as in creating the final products, such as cigars, pipes, pipe blends, devices, structures, etc. is a bit murkier. Experience does not necessarily equate to good advice. But evaluating and weighing the context of a member's recommendations, before immediately posting disagreement, goes a long way toward civility.
6. Ah. The tobacco seeds of FTT members that have migrated around the world is an inspiring thing to contemplate. How do we divide resources fairly? Seeds, knowledge, samples, plans, recipes.
7. We respect others' property on this forum by citing sources of our knowledge, opinions or assertions. This includes crediting other members for their original contributions. (@DrBob invented the Crockpot kiln!)

When I was a kid my grandma had a little plaque on the bedroom wall where I slept. I was pretty much raised by my grandma, but that's another story. The plaque read "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you".
No one in my family was at all religious, and I didn't even know it was from the Bible until many years later. But that said it all for me, and I have always done my best to live by the words on that little plaque.

Mostly very sound, but baccy aside 5 and 6 have historically not always sat easily with each other, as the superiors in 5 tend to want to downplay 6 and keep more of the resources for themselves

I created a Facebook group a few months ago where I share everything about the inspiration behind the oven I'm building.

I even included a link to the forum FTT for those who, like me, want to learn more about tobacco in general.

To be even more precise, I'll also add that Deluxestogie Bob is the creator of the hot air oven concept. Credit where credit is due. Without him, I might not even be here.
