I don't get time to roll a lot of cigars, but when I do I use strips of newspaper to tighten around the rolled binder as a mold, let it sit for an hour, then apply the wrapper. This was the last of my Nicaraguan shade wrapper from WLT; with a Sumatra binder; Dominican O'lor and a leaf of Little Yellow that I grew a few years ago as filler.

Machu Pichu Havana puro. Light to medium body with a sweetness that I couldn't quite identify, somewhere between table sugar and vanilla, and oh so peppery. This is a variety that would add some zip to a tamer blend, but wouldn't distract in the least.
Smoked pretty hot throughout but I'll mark that to construction, age, or the balmy weather.

I rolled this one last night. Habano and Criollo filler with Habano binder and a Havana 608 wrapper. The wrapper was a seco from the last batch of plants that I had to harvest way too early. It was thin and stretchy though and wrapped nicely. Getting a better feel of what works. It's just a rando bunch of whatever was closest in the storage container but it should be good.
Think I'll smoke it when it warms up a bit outside.

First sticks ever made from random mudlugs. Really just to learn the steps and get a feel of the tobacco.
The filler I used was way too dry. It may have started out as entubado but it ended up flakes.
I made four and smoked one. That one drew well and tasted good.
I really need to work how to rehydrate the leaves.

Nice first sticks.
The night before rolling, lightly mist the filler leaves, and tuck them into a plastic bag. Do the same for the binder and wrapper, but mist a little heavier. Next day, they should be ready to roll.

Thanks for the tips. I did that but the leaves dried out again by the next day. Maybe I need better bags and boxes? That's the sort of stuff I'm having to work out.
I've got plenty of mudlugs to trial and error with till I develop something that works before I start using my good leaf which on the most part is still out in the garden growing.
So, I've got time. I might try building a plexiglass box. I've got scrap plexiglass lying around. I really don't want to have to buy stuff. I can afford it; I just don't want to contribute to the economy if I don't have to.

Its almost like we are wrapping presents for ourselves. Then to open them, we light them on fire! Totally my style.
