Virtually no throat hit?

Hi all, having bought and processed samples of everything ITC Tabakblatter.de has to offer; none of it seems to give a satisfying throat hit. It burns and smokes well and you can tell its all good quality. BUT there just isnt the same satisfaction that you get with commercial tobacco. So im wondering whether anyone knows if its something they add to it, or if its something wrong with the leaves im using?

So called "throat hit" is usually associated with the addition of burley to a cigarette blend.

Yeah Im aware of that, hence why I've tried the virginia/Burley combo, and even tried smoking neat Burley, which is slightly better but by no means as rough as one might expect

I could hardly smoke any of my Virginia harvest two years ago because the cigarettes turned out week and without any throat hit. Now I'm growing Aztec Wild and mixing it with the mentioned Virginia leaves. It's usually three parts of Aztec and one part of Virginia to get what I like. But you can do half and half to get a milder taste. Maybe this helps.
