Hi all,
I'm bob, (not my real name but.... you know, internet) I'm a newbie cigar afficionado and a former cigarette smoker. I quit the cigs almost 5 years ago. I smoke a cigar and have some good whiskey about once a month. I'm diving into growing my own tobacco to satisfy my vitamin n craving. I'm looking for info regarding growing tobacco in the south west region of Montana. I have some seedlings started and will be planting outdoors soon. Any advice for a new grower is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum.

I'd say those plants are ready to "harden off" and be planted. Anything that reaches maturity in 70 days or less is best for Montana's short growing season, unless you're growing indoors or a greenhouse. Everything looks good.

Welcome! It’s my first year growing as well. Im in Northern Colorado and my plants are doing pretty well for the first swing at growing basically anything from seed. I hope you have a prosperous season! Your plants are looking good, how many of each variety do you have?

Where in this forum would I start a grow journal to document my progress and get input on techniques and advice to help me on my journey to grow the best tobacco I can? I'm very excited to have a home grown product and I don't want to screw up my first try...

Welcome! your plants look great! I'm a little further north and my plants are a lot smaller; should've started earlier. At least I know what to do next year. Hope your plants give you plenty of vitamin n, lol, love that one!
