Its all good Seanz, I'm sure your garden will mature up before you know.

I have another vid here of harvesting the Con Shade down the fence line, I have tried to make it a bit more educational if Don wants to use it but it will be old hat for you guys.

Still if your like me seeing tobacco vids is all good

After I posted the last video I decided to harvest the mature leaf from the Con Shade growing under the trees in the back corner.

Nice bunch of wrapper leaf.

I also decided it was time to make some seed pod bags, I went to local fabric shop and brought 5 metres x 3 metres of Tulle or bridal veil. I can't say I know my way around the sewing machine but after a few attempts and jamming it up some how I managed to make 20 seed bags.

Very nice pictures and video Kaneo thanks for posting them. The leaf also looks very nice. I was always thinking when you should pick the wrapper leaves, and now I know.

Your CT shade plants seem to be about a meter tall. Last year mine were almost 4 M (See pics in my grow log.). The leaf size appears to be about the same. I wonder why the rather large difference. -- John

I remember seeing your grow log when I first joined and they are impressive Con Shade plants, did you prime the leaves at the same stage or when they were more mature? also did they put alot of the height in towards the end of the season?

I started priming a bit late. The plants were ~ 2 M tall. It is at that height that my commercial shade friend primes his so I used him as a guide. I really don't remember a "growth spurt". They just seemed to grow like weeds. My other varieties in the same patch got to about 2 M so I really don't know what happened. The only difference I an certain of is the shade was treated with a systemic for aphids and it was effective. No aphids on the shade but quite a lot on the other plants and I soaped regularly. -- John

Nice video Kaneo. You have some really good looking wrapper. Very clean. What was the pest situation like?

Think I'm lucky, the seedlings were hit hard with slugs and stuff when they first got planted out but since then they have been fine. Though I did had have one plant that got eaten recently and I found an earwig in the seed pod. No caterpillars here and I don't think we have the hornworms

Yr John curing space is a bit of a problem for me. I was going to use the shed but it was at 30 to 40 humidity. I have an A frame house to so i'm using some of the area that does not have full head height access.

Looking real good. Thanks for that video, I'm all bundled up at work cause it's effing cold and the heaters aren't keeping up so it was real nice watching the lazy summer day with tobacco swaying in the wind:)
