Duzce is Turkish. Nobody knows anything about the management practices for it, unless you live in Duzce. I would (and in fact will) just go with the assumption that it should be handled like most small Orientals.

Duzce is an oriental strain, no ?
I thought it was better to not top them, you should perhaps let them flowering ?
I have all good faith that everything will come back into it’s rightful order. I topped the biggest Düzce but have yet to top anything else. Seed bags are made up though thanks in part to my seamstress. It will flower again later at a more appropriate time.
Absolutely A Ford man!You like the antiques huh, me too. one of my favorite trucks was an f 150 1950 flathead 8. I had the pleasure to restore a 1929 ford one time restoring all the wood parts.
I’m still struggling with the pictures... To answer your question everything pictured is tobacco except for the corn and beets. As Bob said in a previous post the road to good intentions is paved with weeds. You might be looking at a small patch of weeds on the edge of my raised bed not sure ChinaNice looking tobacco, but if you don't figure out how to get your photos to stay upright, I'm going to send you my chiropractor bill. (just kidding)
On post 188, what's that thing on the left (bottom) that looks like a shrub? Looks like a couple plants in the same spot.
That is Samsun Maden before they were nearly uprooted yesterday in a storm. I staked them up and tied them with sinew very tightly. The wind was ridiculous and I have lots of damaged Leaf now. If I don’t start bagging plants I will soon run into possible crossing of varieties. Düzce and Samsun are flowering. Costa Rica 589 got topped. These are all at about 90 days and are acting like they are maturing rapidly. I wouldn’t mind an early harvest on them just so I can get them cured, seed stored and out of the way. I have bit off more than I am used to handling and am kinda stressed about the whole seed head bagging process. I had my bags made to DeluxeStogies specifications and they seem huge for the size of my orientals. I do have some 1x2 ft. bags but even they seem large. Next year my focus will be on only a few varieties.I think ChinaVoodoo is asking about the shrub visible in the circle :

When I look at it, it makes me believe that a few tobacco plants were planted in a very small spot.

That is six plants of Samsun Maden and this evening I actually harvested the top sets of leaves to make room for my seed bags made of ag-15. The leaves are starting to mottle Yellow spots so I thought what the heck go ahead and experiment a little they’re not as ripe as I want but it’s all about learning right.Yes, the one with the white hoola hoop around it. I should have mentioned that.
I’ve been entertaining the same notion just haven’t had the courage. They aren’t as cramped as the picture makes them out.Being the heartless person that I am, I would be inclined to thin those Samsun a bit. You can cut off a few entire stalks, and just hang them as is, to see what you get. I really think they're a little immature to amount to anything.
