at the beginning of the picking season i hung 3 sticks in my usual curing area a camper.. just to find them all moldy. days later [ weve had a unusal rainy summer in fla. ]

i knew with the size of this grow. i had to come up with a plan and do it fast!!!!!!!

i'll show you what i did... followed by some pic's of the grow... since my grow log wasnt updated at all.. '' due to issues ''

i had a extra bedroom... so i thought if i took a page from the old-timers i could design it like a stick-barn

..IMG_20150202_161516180.jpg

...i used 4' sticks and 3 nails one at both ends and a nail in the center, to wrap the wire around,,, and hung the sticks on my '' rafters ''

the room slowlly being built and filled

im gonna build something this winter, with a dirt floor.. just for curing my bacca,

i had my woman stand beside them for size comparrison... and the last pic is after the second priming

this was my first year planting on this spot,, and the crabgrass kicked my butt. but next year hopefully all of that will be dead... and i have a irrigation system to install. with 3....1 inch sprinkler heads.

i proablly used 1/2 of the space i had.. next years grow is gonna be dyn--o--mite. [ as j.j. would say ]

Glad you got the picture issue straightened out. The patch looks great and the curing room looks like it's doing the job. You gotta do what you gotta do. Good job.

I think you have the philosophy of "A man's home is his castle" pretty well worked out. And all the greenery looks great.

i got it '' cooking'' in the room right now....

ill put up some more pic's tonight of the way im heating it up to 120+ my thermometer dont go higher than 120... but i pegg it out with the heat i got going,,

my virginia bright leaf got planted late. so yesterday i picked the first priming of it.. and have it piled. giving me time to heat the otherbacca up... because once i throw that green leaf in there, im gonna be back in '' air curing '' stage,, until it browns,,,

then once again summon the devil to reside in that room.... and heat things up ...lol

the curing room is doing great... i brought a heating device in there, and have been kilning it... sometimes hot.. sometimes around the 110 range,

..IMG_20150817_135618369.jpg

.. i pegged my thermometer out. i guess i need to get me a tobaccoo thermometer. to read the 165+ degree mark,

..IMG_20150817_130438896.jpg

.. my heating source for now... with a pot of water on it.. there is no kerosene smell..and the evaporating water adds humidity to the area,,,

..IMG_20150726_225449475.jpg

when im not going for high temp's i been using a radiator type heater to keep it hovering around 110.

..IMG_20150831_194827313.jpg

i set this up today to see how it will do for raising my humidity.. ive read where growers have done it. so im gonna give it a try,

The leaf looks great. Nice work on the drying area.
I wish I had a spare room in the house.

that looks like a lot of nice tobacco in a well organized room. it must have been a good year because i am having my best year also. i still have to harvest 12 silver river and 40 more african red plants that i planted 2 weeks later than everything else.

I have a thermometer/hygrometer identical to that, purchased in the 1970s, and used in my humidor. I think it will melt if it goes much higher. You may want to look into one of the inexpensive digital thermometers available on ebay--the kind that remains outside the room, and uses a probe on a wire.

Well we're having a nice misty overcast all day..

So I turned off the heat and pointed the fan to draw in moisture..

Hopefully I'll trap a good deal of moisture in there..so I can continue cooking it...

i finally got to cut a little of each strain i grew, and try it individually.. and it all is very smooth...

that high heat curing really speeds up the process.
