I don't think I started my seed to early. I started them the second week of March and planted the first week of May. That's only seven weeks, as a matter of fact, I thought my plants were still a little small when I set them out. I have been thinking a lot about it also and can not come up with a solid answer. BB told me that old seedlings, wet, dry, or cool weather could produce early bud. The only thing I can think of for me might be, I had wet weather right after I set them out for about 2 weeks then about 3 weeks of dry with no rain followed by wet for another 2 weeks, maybe that triggered something. Would that type of weather be common to everyone with early budding?

I have to add we had hot muggy days followed by cold Rainey days. That pretty much describes the weather pattern I had since planting with the addition of many cloudy days. Even when it wasn't raining I've had as many mostly cloudy days as I've had full sun days.
